Mercedes-Benz Financial Services

Mercedes-Benz states that tires on each axle must meet its published matching requirements, including the same size, brand, model, type and/or speed rating, and be equivalent in quality/performance to the originals. Excess wear and use charge is also associated with tires with less than 4/32" tread depth. Tires that have sidewall damage (which includes plugs and cuts), bulges, or exposed cords also carry excess wear and use charge. Visit Mercedes-Benz website for further information. (Look under Tires & Rims tab)

Porsche Financial Services

1/8" (4/32") or greater is the practical target; less than 1/8" (4/32") may be chargeable.  Brand/model matching is specifically addressed. Same brand/model/specification is the safest approach. Below 1/8" (4/32"), mismatched size/brand/model/speed rating, snow tires, exposed cords, plugs, cuts, bulges, flat tires, or inadequate OEM-equivalent quality/performance. See Porsche's website for further information.

Tesla

4/32" minimum. Tires must meet Tesla size and speed/seasonal rating standards. Mismatched tires are excessive wear except for brand; dry rot, cupping, cuts and sidewall plugs are also listed as excessive wear.  Different brand may be acceptable if size/rating requirements are met. Tesla separately recommends Tesla-designed or Tesla-approved tires. Visit Tesla's website for further information.

Rivian

Rivian lease-return materials identify 4/32" minimum tread, comparable quality to the original configuration, and matching requirements ("Tires must match and are comparable quality to the original equipment"). Rivian also warns that changing wheels/tires from the original configuration may create end-of-lease charges.  Document the original configuration. Replacement need not automatically be the original OEM tire, but it should meet the lessor's matching/specification requirements. Visit Rivian's website under "60 days before you turn in your vehicle" for further information.
